The City Government of Puerto Princesa, through its City Tourism Department, successfully mounted the Biyaheng Kalusugan: Drowning Prevention Campaign held at the Robinsons Place Palawan on March 25, 2026 —an event that not only promoted water safety but also highlighted environmental responsibility through interactive community engagement.

A key feature of the event was the participation of Eco Kolek, together with its partners: the EU-PH Green Economy Partnership implemented by UNDP Philippines, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Puerto Princesa Office, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, OCEAN, PEMSEA and Delta P. Inc. Their collaborative effort brought a dynamic and educational dimension to the campaign by integrating waste management awareness into the program.

Participants, particularly families, students and mallgoers, took part in fun and engaging games centered on proper waste segregation and solid waste management. These activities were designed to educate the public in a simple yet impactful way—transforming environmental learning into an enjoyable experience. Players who successfully demonstrated their knowledge and participation were rewarded with prizes, further encouraging active involvement and reinforcing positive behavior.

Beyond promoting drowning prevention, the event underscored the importance of environmental stewardship as part of public health and safety. By combining awareness on life-saving measures with sustainability education, the initiative reflected Puerto Princesa’s continued commitment to building a safer, cleaner, and more informed community.

Through strong partnerships and community-driven activities, the campaign demonstrated how collaborative efforts can effectively inspire behavioral change—proving that protecting lives and protecting the environment can go hand in hand.
