The Manila Baroque Ensemble is a chamber group specializing in music of the 17th and 18th centuries. It was initially a recital group in 2017 for the performance of G.F Handel’s Dixit Dominus. MBE made its official debut at the 43rd International Bamboo Organ Festival(2018) with concertmaster Chrstian Tan and in collaboration with the Villacico Vocal Ensemble( now known as Collegium Vocale Manila) under the leadership of Beverly Shangkuan-Cheng.
Manila Baroque Ensemble continues to uphold and promote works of the Baroque period with a high level of musicianship and historically-informed performances. The members of Manila Baroque Ensemble currently reside in Metro Manila, Philippines. Since its formation, MBE has collaborated with both local and International artists performing the works of Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli, as well as latin American Baroque music at the International Bamboo Organ Festival.
