It’s amazing to see how this modern time changes everything around us, in communication, transportation and even in fashion. With this ever changing lifestyle, I was happy to see that in Pila Laguna, the people were able to preserve their culture, heritage and identity.
Seeing these wonderful houses, built during the Spanish era, well, around 100 years ago, it made me wonder and imagine how it was like during the old days. The houses, mostly repainted, was able to preserve its original construction, with its wide windows, big staircases, spacious basements and flower pots and plants surrounding the house. These houses were preserved by its owners and the people are proud to have these in the neighborhood. Most of the houses are used as residential units, some are abandoned but some are open for business like restaurants, barber shop or mini-grocery stores.
If you come by Pila, Laguna, don’t forget to pass by these old houses, it is a place of rich culture, artistic display of its people and their heritage.
