Location: Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino P299.00 dinner buffet is what caught my attention to this restaurant. On our second night in Cebu, this is where we went to get our dinner. Being new to the place, we didn’t know that we need to make reservations, the receptionist then informed us that she didn’t know when the next sit will be available. So, hungry and tired, we do not want to go to another restaurant so we decided to wait. Though the receptionist doesn’t seem eager to write us on the waiting list, we still stood by the door hoping to be included in the list.
When, a woman came to us and assisted us out of nowhere. She made a place for us by the cashier’s bar. Pulling up two high chairs and setting up placemats and utensils for us to use, we went our way to the buffet table.
At first, I was uneasy to be eating in front of the cashier, but they made us feel comfortable. The cashier even got my bag to be placed in a safer place, beside the cash register, that made me enjoy my dinner even more (be able to eat without my big bag hanging over my left arm, that is truly a big relief).
The woman that assisted us, pass by and frequently asked us if everything’s ok, and we are, thanks to her.
Well, I was just about in the middle of my first plate when a table was available and we were able to transfer to a bigger and more comfortable place.
I really appreciate the effort that the woman gave us. Compared to the receptionist that doesn’t even want to place us in the waiting list, this woman, which I came to know as Maria Victoria Virtucio, also known as Vicky, the restaurant’s Operation’s Manager, tried to accommodate us and made a way to provide a table and chair for us.
Actually, the food served in the restaurant are pretty simple and traditional Filipino dishes. Dinuguan, liempo, fried shrimp, talaba, bulalo, fried chicken, and litson to name a few, and having halo-halo, sorbetes, palitaw, and kakanin for desserts.
The ambience is pretty cool and the food was good, but it was the service that Vicky gave us that made this restaurant receives my thumbs up. Disclaimer: Any views expressed in this review are those of the individual sender and may not necessarily reflect the views of Daigdig Pinoy. |
