I always pass by this restaurant but I never got the chance to try it… well… not until last night.

I always wanted to try this out because I was fascinated with a lot of things in this restaurant… first, the name, Bubba Gump… though I do not know what it means but it made me say this 3 words “run forest run!”

Upon sitting in the table, I noticed that there is a menu attached to a ping pong racket, interesting! Second, I saw two wide screen tv on the wall, one was playing a sports channel, and the other, you guessed it, the movie “Forest Gump”

Being a first timer customer in the restaurant, I asked the waitress their best seller, “shrimps” she said. So we ordered, Forest’s Shrimp Net Catch (shrimp steamed in Beer with potatoes and fresh vegetables and Cajun spice) and Dixie Style Baby Back Ribs.

We waited for about 20 minutes and I was surprised on the size of the ribs served before us. It was big, and it tastes good. Though I had to admit the ribs from RACKS are meatier than this but it’s ok. For php850, I think the serving is ok. Served with a cup of coleslaw and fries, I’m having a feast.

Then the shrimp was served. I thought the bucket was filled with shrimp. I was worried that we might not be able to finish it because there’s just two of us, but there was a net that holds the shrimps, that made the bucket looked full. Before it was placed on our table, the waitress poured the shrimps in the serving plate. Cajun is a bit spicy and it blended well with the shrimps and vegetables. Peeling off the shell of the shrimp is a breeze, you can tell that the shrimps are fresh and they are big enough too.  Truly, shrimps are their specialty. The food that we ordered I think is good for at least 4-5 people.

And because you will be using your hands to peel off the shrimps, there is a roll of kitchen paper towel available per table that you can use.
