The year 2009 marks a milestone in the life of Marvin Agustin. Not only is he turning 30 this year, but he is doing so with an impressive track record and overwhelming achievements that are barely believable for someone who is considerably so young to achieve so much.

Now a bonafide GMA Artist Center prized talent, Marvin Agustin ranks among the few celebrities in Philippine show business who have proven their versatility and staying power in the industry by continuously reinventing themselves and maximizing their potentials. Marvin is still very visible on television as well as in the movies, with a regular weekly program, a currently running primetime show and another one on the drawing board, a couple of high profile TV commercials, and a new movie that will be shown abroad.

Marvin has been eliciting good reviews for his notable portrayal of the scheming Gaston in the top-rating GMA primetime series Lalola, again proving his capability as an actor to be remarkably convincing either as a protagonist or an antagonist.  GMA is also cooking another primetime show wherein Marvin will again showcase his acting versatility. Moreover, Marvin has also proven his insightfulness in Dear Friend, the weekly program he co-hosts with Jolina Magdangal, which will be airing its new season soon.

Marvin is currently shooting for the Unitel movie 2999, which is scheduled to be screened abroad. In the movie, his character stole a pair of shoes from Imelda Marcos’ 3,000 shoe collection. This is surely another interesting role for Marvin, one which may again earn him more accolades as his previous movie projects.

While Marvin’s audience charm and acting prowess keep him active on the small and big screen and send coveted prime roles his way, his entrepreneurship skills and business acumen have made him one of the most successful restauranteurs in the country today.  After studying at the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management, he started his own Japanese-American restaurant Sumo Sam, which has branches in posh establishments such as EDSA Shari-La Mall and Rockwell Power Plant Mall. Marvin also owns another Japanese restaurant called John and Yoko at the new Greenbelt 5 in Makati, along with Café Ten Titas in Gateway Mall, Marciano’s at Greenbelt 3, and Samurai Chef in Trinoma Mall.  On top of all that, he will still be opening a new restaurant in Alabang Town Center, Eastwood and The Fort.

Another facet of Marvin that is unknown to many is his excellence in Archery. In fact, he is scheduled to compete for the sport in the SEA Games and World Championship in October, November and December.
With so many activities and achievements under his belt, it’s a wonder how Marvin juggles his time among his numerous obligations. However, mature and wise as he is, Marvin has learned to manage his time well. On top of all his showbiz, business and sports responsibilities, he still spends quality time with his twins Santiago and Sebastian.

Truly, Marvin Agustin is a picture of success and happiness. At 30, he can rightfully be called a multi-faceted achiever who has proven how hard work, dedication and determination can lead to the fulfillment of one’s dreams.
