The GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) formally inked its partnership with the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) for the Kapuso School Rehabilitation (KSR) project. In a contract signing held at the GMA Network Complex in Quezon City on February 23, both GMAKF and PCA vowed to continue merging resources, manpower, and competencies for the completion of the school rehabilitation program. The project, which stemmed from the onslaught caused by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng in 2009, provides long-term assistance to hardly hit areas in Central Luzon. An offshoot to the immediate relief assistance delivered via the Operation Bayanihan project, the KSR envisions to sustain GMAKF's relief support through the building of conducive classrooms for elementary students from select public schools. |

Due to the recent storms that devastated our land, it was a clear indication that is was a product of severe climate change. It is not happening in other countries, it is definitely happening here, in the Philippines, and it is about time that we accept that Climate change is real. After the storms and the clouds were cleared, we have seen the injuries it had left us, with our houses destroyed, properties lost and families shattered, what now? Are you going to just wait for people to come to help us or we will try to stand on our feet and do something about it? We are not required to do something big, extravagant or loud to be noticed. WE can make a change on our own simple ways. We can make our voices heard no matter how small or insignificant you think that might be. |

Makansutra is a new addition in the Manila Ocean Park that will tingle and entice all your senses. See, hear, smell and taste a different experience.
“Makan” is Bahasa for “to eat”, while “sutra” is Sanksrit for “lessons”. This was brought in to the country by a food anthropologist and photojournalist KF Seetoh.
Makansutra Asian Food village is an interactive open “naked chef” performance kitchen that demonstrates the connections between Asian food and Asian culture. There will be a roving “kacang putih”, the traditional vendor of India dressed in traditional garb, roasted nuts and beans in paper cups, and a “tock tock” noodle vendor who will be going around the village for orders. |
