Balut, it’s a fertilized duck egg with an embryo. It’s like eating boiled egg with a delicious surprise inside. This delicious delicacy is one favorite of Filipinos, usually eaten with a pinch of salt or a few drops of vinegar to enhance the flavor. It is best eaten hot and is known to enhance your system or as they say “Pampalakas ng tuhod” (Will give strength to your knees/ an “aphrodisiac food” so they said).
