Arte Cordillera Theater Group is a cultural group based in Baguio. They perform cultural dances, rituals and chants specific to the region. This group intends to imbue its members with the true and genuine love and appreciation for their respective culture.
“We believe that this could usher in more avenues for the Cordillerans to proudly show to the world that indeed, we are blessed in both natural resources and cultural heritage.” Cited Mario Laforga Rosete, founder and director.
Arte Cordillera Theater Group represented the Philippines in the International Theater World Congress, wherein the event was participated by 120 countries, held in Intramuros, Manila last May 27, 2006. They are also the regular ritual performers of the Baguio Film Festival. One of the most memorable event was when they performed in the International Peace Federation held at Camp John Hay Baguio City, wherein foreign delegates are amazed with the uniqueness of the culture of the Cordillerans.
The group has been a part of an indie movie which was premiered in Honolulu Hawaii. As of this time, the group has an ongoing project which is casts with popular local celebrities that will eventually be released by November.
The group is community based founded and directed by Mario Laforga Rosete and Michael Lent Dadat as the choreographer of the group.
